God didn't restore the lost tribes of the northern kingdom to their homeland as he expressly comments in this chapter of Ezekiel.

For it was the Lord himself who hardened their hearts to wage war against Israel, so that he might destroy them totally, exterminating them without mercy, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
If Country A manipulates Country B into attacking A, and A uses this as an excuse to go in and exterminate them without mercy, crying self defense all the while...is that a moral thing to do? A good ethical act? True heavenly wisdom?
Why is it good when God does it?

Some force seems to restrict me from buying into the apparent nonsense that others find so easy to buy into. Having no religious or supernatural beliefs of my own, I just call that force reason. -- Tired of the Nonsense

In this case the Israelites under Gods direction engaged in a genocide of the inhabitants already living there which makes it even less moral.

That wasn't my point though. God had no compunctions in engineering an outcome in order to kill those he hated surely he could have intervened on behalf of those he supposedly loved?

And that is what is prophesied in the OT. But again he didn't do it.
