Christmas

Post by TQWcS »

I thought I would get everyone into the commercialistic holiday cheer by asking. What does everybody want for christmas?

I'll go first. I have not really had time to think about it. So, I have no clue what I want for Christmas. That was easy...

I could use that, but at this point, I'd prefer assurances that I'll never need to deal with Checkstyle or PMD crud for my Computer Science projects ever again....

"No, I don't care that my lines are long than 80 characters, or that I've used the dreaded "Tab" key, or my IDE prefers Java Style endbraces as opposed to C style braces.... and no I will not split up my main game driver class into several pieces because it is over the 3000 line limit...."

That would make me happy.... :)
Gilt and Vetinari shared a look. It said: While I loathe you and all of your personal philosophy to a depth unplummable by any line, I will credit you at least with not being Crispin Horsefry [The big loud idiot in the room].

Well just a min. ago my Christmas was just made! It is a gift to me in that I will make my father sooooooo very happy. Well Dad met General Franks yesterday and was quite moved by the experience. He passed on through my sister that he would like me to purchase a signed copy of his book. In the process of doing so I noticed that I could get a signed photo and proceeded to write General Franks a note about Dad and the impact 911 had on him also that I felt that it would mean the world to him to have a personalized signed photo.

Well, I just got an e-mail back from his office saying not only will he get the signed photo but they will also include a signed book plate and was assured that this will arrive before Christmas! Wow, this feels so GOOD! :D I can't wait to give it to him!

Here is a gift for the non-christians

How about
1. coming to know God.
2. receiving the 'gift of salvation'.
3. find the true meaning and purpose in their lives.

to all who wants to have the best Christmas.

Steps to belief

How about praying this:
"God,
if you are really there. May I find the road that leads to you."

[hr]
But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.

And if you are a truly open seeker of God, you will find Him.

By reading the Gospels

How about everyone in our wealthy Christian societies practicing what they preach and giving all of their Christmas money to charities to help those in the Third World?

We have agreed with family and friends this year that all of our present money will go to charity

The Christmas tree is looking pretty bare at the moment - I hope Santa isn't just a myth :-({|=

Drivel!
If you 'really, really' want to believe that a burned cheeseburger is the second comming of the 'virgin (yeah right!*__-) Mary', you will eventually talk yourself into believing it. You will then find 'evidence' (good enough for you, anyway) to support your new 'belief'. Big deal, so what? Your having a belief is not any kind of intelligent 'proof' that the cheeseburger was anything other than a cheeseburger, except IN YOUR WORLD, YOUR REALITY!!!!! No one elses!
