'God' is supposed to be the answer to the mystery of existence. You may phrase it differently, but loyalty, belief in, worship of God is often listed as 'the answer.'
The question for debate is, "Doesn't the projection of the idea of 'God' existing and being the answer to the questions of existence merely push the question down the road?
If one believes in God, doesn't one still ask, 'Why?'
'What is God's purpose?'
'Why did God make us?'
'Why are we here?'
'Why is God here?'
'What is ultimately meaningfull?"

Post #2Certainly. The answers to which additional "whys?" can be asked almost ad infinitum. It's a childish pursuit, but wholly legitimate.Diogenes wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 12:48 am 'God' is supposed to be the answer to the mystery of existence. Post #3Yes, but some of these questions we wouldn't ask. God is existence itself, so I wouldn't ask what is God's purpose or why is God here. I would ask why did God make us? Why are we here? And if we do not have answers to those questions from God, then it seems God is not real.Diogenes wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 12:48 am 'God' is supposed to be the answer to the mystery of existence. Post #4That is my point. Positing a 'god' answers none of those questions. It just defers them... quite possibly forever.AquinasForGod wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 11:51 pmYes, but some of these questions we wouldn't ask. If you are convinced God is real, then you can be convinced God gives revelations, such as why we are here.

Post #6So what are you implying here, that if a person can be convinced God is real, they can be convinced of anything? Talking gullibility I presume.AquinasForGod wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 4:43 pm [Replying to Diogenes in post #4]
