Questions about Jesus and JW’s

Post by MissKate13 »

1. Jehovah’s Witnesses say Jesus was “a god.” This is how the NWT reads (John 1:1).

Do JW’s believe Jesus was a true or false god?

2. JW’s say Jesus is a created being.

When was Jesus (capital or lower case g) created?

I look forward to your responses to one or both questions.

”For unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins.” (John 8:24

You were not clear, is it true that Jesus and his Father are not equal in rank, power and authority?
Yes, JWs always quote the text that Jesus says "the Father is greater than I.

Yes ...

Is Jesus still unequal to God even today ? If so, why? Upon what basis?

You've lost me , I asked you "..., is it true that Jesus and his Father are not equal in rank, power and authority?"

And you said ..."Yes"

Did you mean ,"no" Jesus and his Father ARE equal in rank, power and authority?

You cut my reply, JWs always quote the text where Jesus says, 'the Father is greater than I".
I missed to notice power and authority, yes, they are equal as the Father give Jesus all the authority but not equal in rank.

When you say "yes, they are equal" do you mean "yes they are equal in power and authority"?

If so what did you mean by the following

Yes, equal in power and authority, as the Father gave all the power and authority to Jesus. (Mat 28:18)

Relational subordination is simply a term to describe the relationship that exists among God the Father and Son Jesus.

So is the glorified Jesus today, now that he has returned to heaven in "relational subordination" to his Father? If so, why? Upon what basis?

Yes, Jesus is still the Son and the Father is still the Father, that is still their relationship.
Jesus sit at the right hand of the Father's throne.

(NRSVue) Heb 12:2 looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God

That is true. There is no disagreement in that. The disagreement is when you say that the Son and the Father are equal in authority and somehow because they are both Spirits today, they are both God.
