Muslims see sin as a challenge, except for sex?
In speaking with Muslims, I have found that they see sin as something to be conquered and they are not shy about taking on the challenge of fighting their desires for sin.
A good trait to my mind.
Except for sexual matters.
With these sins and temptations, Muslims hide their temptation away, with clothing and social separation, and never face and conquer this particular group of sins. An example of this would be weddings where the females are separated from the males.
Know that some are more liberal than others and there is some liberalization but think that this is not the common Muslim.
Why is there a double standard?
Face and conquer, so to speak, other sins, but hide from sexual ones.
Thoughts?

Post #4I ask you as per your post, that Muslims make double standards, and see sin as a challenege, beside sex. so can you explain what exactly you mean here sir,Greatest I Am wrote:Not quite sure what you are saying here.TrueReligion wrote:In your idea or knowledge, sex before marriage, or after marriage, e.g adultery , fornication is right or wrong? your answer will be easy to understand your post.Greatest I Am wrote:Muslims see sin as a challenge, except for sex?

What I ask you, in a general, that adultery and fornication is right or wrong, just provide your answer, regardless of any religion.
Thanks

Post #5I think the OP is asking: in Islam, it is righteous to be tempted and overcome any particular sin. Yet they go through great lengths in order to never be tempted by sexual sin. Therefore there is no means to overcome it. It's not a question of whether sexual sin is wrong, it's why they jump through hoops to cover up any sexual temptation and not other temptations. Or why they set themselves against all sin and temptation, but cover up sexual temptation.

If your impulse is to steal then by placing yourself in a position where you could steal and do not, you overcome that impulse. Do this often enough and you kill that impulse and become a better person.
This is character building.

If consenting and honest adults want to engage in whatever activity they choose and do not victimize or hurt anyone then I would say, go for it if it pleases you.
Is it the place of Government or Religion to tell adults what to do with their body parts? No.
Unless their is a complaint or victim.
The west has come up with victimless crimes and do victimize those who engage in these but these crimes are arguably unjust laws based on old religious concepts.
They are slowly being weeded out of secular laws.
As it should be.

Re: Muslims see sin as a challenge, except for sex?
Post #9For example, if you were a doctor and discovered the cure to cancer, you would be considered the greatest doctor on earth. You subsequently are puffed up with pride and arrogance. If you translated the logic behind covering up sexual temptations, then the answer would be to never discover the cure to cancer in the first place. You are not allowing the temptation to manifest itself and therefore there is no growth in your spiritual life since you are not overcoming sin. You're simply blocking out the world.TrueReligion wrote:Well, thn I would like to ask what kind of other sins, which Muslims feel easily tempted and go through easily beside sex.
