'Ethnic', 'Racial' and Cultural Stupidity

Post by davidsupreme »

This entire post came to me just a couple of minutes ago seeing something on the magical apparatus we call television, I registered specifically to post this and hope I will get some good feedback and thoughts on it.

On some channel a young man was squeaking about how he would 'refuse' to 'lose' his ethnical background, and that he was proud of his ethnical background and, well, 'ethnical' was said so many times I got a headache.

Most people who are reasonable educated/intelligent/smart (note* I am not saying low educated people are less or more, and use the words 'intelligent' in a general sense here) know that any 'ethnic culture' you would have is indoctrinated and put on you or others via family or local meme's, you decide the person you are and who your parents are and the nation or culture you are born in is irrelevant to this, so his 'ethnical' claim was rather silly as clearly he been indoctrinated into believing/holding this view. Now he was living in a culture he was 'less part of' (obviously told this by part of the indoctrination) whiles I think he now lived in a "new" country most of his entire life making him, obviously, 100% part of that culture and the 'ethnical' issues he speak of is completely arbitrary and soley indoctrinated into him.

This made me think about more ridiculous activity other human brothers are part of alienating eachother making the world a less good and stable place to live.

Specifically, to me, came the black community in United States (presumably because I have alot of knowledge and experience about this culture). You see the African Americans in the U.S do not, in a general cultural way, see themselves as part of the society, they are separated (mentally) and generally promote BLACK PRIDE and how they should be PROUD to be black and so on. Black Woman who happen to like none-black men are alienated from their culture, being told they are letting the 'black race' die out (yes, Blacks and Whites in the U.S are equally ignorant about world population and geography, our stupidity keeps us sane I guess) and other nonsense.

I personally consider this to be one of the reasons racism and such issues are still part of our general culture as the ones claiming racism keeps it going by estrange themselves from other cultures and peoples claiming to be special and hence, become racist themselves. My personal opinion by experience, I see the Black Community in the U.S to be some of the most racist people on the planet, but obviously, as the world is big, it may be overexaggerated.

Once again, as previous, we got a group of people who alienate themsleves from the culture by using some sort of cultural/family or historic link, in this case, the color of their skin. And once again, any sensible person know that there is no difference between a black or white or brown or whatever person, other then general differences and cultural choices they, arbitrary, made. Nothing more, nothing else.

These examples creates a world with people full of hatred, stupidity and ignorance. A world of xenophobia, a world with people ready to kill eachother because they 'hate' the "other side" because that is what their mom, dad and society told them to, instead of seeing them as just a bunch of apes just as you and me.

Or would you disagree?

I had a friend (Irish Canadian) who's mother was racially bigoted. "I have nothing against them, but each to their own kind. You know, the children of mixed marriages just don't do so well. It is unfair to bring them into the world. "

She married a Japanese Canadian. Upon being presented with grandchildren, mom completely changed her tune. There is hope and the times are changing. I enjoy living in a city where we can, in a Lebanese restaurant, be served by a person of Chinese heritage and eavesdrop on the conversation of a young couple; he's mixed Caribbean and she's eastern European. Young love is so sweet.

I posted the same in another forum and got the response that I was a racist and other then that, no one wanted to say anything, no comments, nothing. I found that strange, not to mention the racial remark as I would say my entire post is against racism in all forms (whatever "Race" is suppose to mean).

I enjoy going to a Chinese restaurant eating 'chinese' food made by chinese people that never been to China whiles the food they cook are adapted to the culture they live in, which is, not Chinese. I love this way of mixing in the world and can give examples of Pizza to Kebab all none-'original' and adapted to the culture you find them in served by people from any ethnical background, but yet, I noticed, most bigotred people, the worst ones, are the ones that do not KNOW they are bigoted whiles they scream from the rooftops that they are against racism, usually referring to blacks or muslims or mexicans whiles creating a stereotype towards whites or italians or spanish, and so on.

It is sad what the people of our world do and that they cant just live in peace.

This is a joke, right? It's in very poor taste and the irony...

This is a direct quote of YOU. I find your posts...offensive, as you are showing the behavior you are claiming to be against, thus irony.
