Does a material vs spiritual view of the universe conflict?

This question is mainly directed to those theists who believe that a material view of the world is not in conflict with a spiritual view. That is, does it make sense to defend material causation and, at the same time, defend God causation? I say these views aren't necessarily incompatible, but they do contradict Occam's razor since it requires us to believe in a far more complex universe than seems reasonable to believe.

Occam's razor would have us conclude that negative entropy is not possible, so it fails as any kind of absolute ruler. :-k

Dave, might I respectfully suggest that you brush-up on your entropy? I could explain where you're going wrong here but I doubt if you'd accept my word. Perhaps instead you could have a look at this website and in particular this page dealing with the second law of thermodynamics and evolution. You will see that you are not the only one to have misconceptions which is no doubt why Professor Lambert has taken the trouble to try and straighten it out.
