Slave

I've seen some on here mention they are 'a slave to Christ'.
Does this mean exactly what it says?
Is it symbolic?
Is it even healthy?
Or should every Christina consider themselves, a 'slave to Christ' in the most strict standards?

The Bible itself argues against this idea:
  • Galatians 5:1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
This of course would not be the first time the Bible contradicts itself.

That's a big topic Menotou,

Being 'a slave to Christ', basically means being under the command of Christ, obeying Christ as our master. JW's are dedicated to Almighty God (YHWH) the Father but believe God has given all authority to Jesus, so our obedience to Jesus is a reflection of our dedication to God.
Is it literal? Well, yes as a slave is defined as someone who is "the legal property of another" ...

Is it forced ? Absolutely not. While the dictionary definition of slave includes the idea of servitude and ownership through force, Slaves of God and Christ do so by their own free will because they want to be in that position. It is entirely voluntary and can be renounced at any time.

Is it even healthy? Yes, indeed one might define healthy as living in harmony with what we are designed to be. Humans were never imho designed to live cut off from our Creator.

Should every Christians consider themselves, a 'slave to Christ' in the most strict standards? Well the standards for Christians is in the Holy bible. They might be considered sttrict or even too strict by some, but each person must live their life as they see fit.

Do you Christians want to be God's slave back in the Garden of Eden? Do you want to run naked through God's garden, and then run to God when he whistles? Do you want to lie at God's feet and eat fresh fruit from God's hand?

This Christian does! Yes absolutely!

As for naked... You got something against naked? Adam and Eve lost their innocence for themselves and their children and that it seems from the bible account, that, effected how they viewed their own bodies, which is a shame because we are wonderfully made. Arguably someone (probably a woman) would have sooner or later dreampt up the concept of clothing... but in a perfect world it would no dobut have been born from invention and artistic expression rather than fear and shame.

Anyway, naked or clothed I'll take paradise under Gods rule over the often oppressive rule of imperfect humans and a closet full of designer clothes any day of the week!!!

Slaves are subject to their master's every whim. Please them or you're gonna get whacked. So yes, Christians are slaves of the god-man.

The Bible does not support the idea of being a slave to Christ.. The Bible supports the Idea of being an adopted child of God and thats why we call God our Holy Father..

Sounds very much like a man-dog relationship. But I love my dog and wouldn't allow her to spend a burning eternity. I suppose that's the difference.

That doesn't sound like a good relationship at all. At the very least, it's one sided.

The harsh reality here seems to be that you guys don't think you are slaves.

Choose your master at least seems to be a conscious decision rather than remaining unconscious to whom your master is.
Proverbs 18:17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.
