If you don't believe the Bible.

Christians will often insist that certain texts can't be understood to actually mean what is plainly stated. Given enough believers I imagine that most of the Bible would be in dispute. The question is, why should the sceptic believe the Bible if Christianity does not.[/i]

If God indicates that he will personaly operate in hardening Pharaohs heart who are you to say otherwise? Also Moses had not been in Pharaohs company since the overseer incident.
Exodus 7:1-3New International Version (NIV)

7 Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. 2 You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country. 3 But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt,

That's some special pleading right there.

Having two standards is...having a double standard. That's the definition of a double standard.

The Bible should not be believed unless your conscience or revealed divinity tell you otherwise. Do not believe its lies and trust your conscience and your gods which have revealed holy truth unto your soul.

Right on! Do you mean that I am being protected by a force from falling into error? It is somewhat "miraculous " that I freed myself from a very religious background and culture. And this in the age before the internet. Talk about peer pressure and fear of damnation. Now I am in the chosen few

I have no idea. My belief is that no one is "protected" by any "force" and all matter is affected very very similarly by the four fundamental forces and the two mysterious ones (dark matter and dark energy).

My opinion is that you learned and grew more rational concerning the beliefs you had implanted on you as a child.

If the charge is obvious and can be definitively proven, can someone not point out the difference between what a member says in one place versus another? That would be odd. Sorta makes me sad about this site. I would think that's a critical element of reasonable debate. :( :(
