It seems all people do here is attack God.
It should be called an "atheist" debate site. It's most probably to get Christians to come into the lions den.
Why is this called a " Christian DEbate site"

Christians believe him so.. but the Christain concept of 'The Christ' is a different concept of the Jewish Messiah. Jesus does not qualify for being the Jewish Messiah. Christians can call Jesus anything they want, but they do not have the right to impose their religious concepts on another religion.
The Jewish faith does not accept the Christian concept of 'The Christ' to be valid for Judaism.
Tex: Interesting.....And what will the Jewish Messiah do to us Christians when he comes? Tells us we were wrong?
Unless he is God, why should I believe the JEWISH MESSIAH? Of course he will have to come with a birth certificate and maybe some DNA....Run through the exam and then wait for the Jewish scholar to take a vote and see if this is the person they want as a Messiah.

I do not even regard the Hebrew Bible as "the Word of God" as you probably do; I regard it as the literature of the Jewish people, and neither history, science treatise, nor the direct words of the Almighty. Again, that is not the same as saying it is "false" or a "fable."
I can't imagine you giving Tex any more respect than you already have. You've given him the ultimate respect.
If he can't see the profound respect that you are giving him by now, he never will see it.

Post #54If you said that to me, I would tell you the following truth:Tex wrote: Tex:If I told you this....What would you say to me?
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of Gods one and only Son.
I read the Bible too, but personally I don't believe that it's anything more than outrageous superstitious rumors at best, or potentially even intentional deceitful lies.
That's my truth Tex.
Are you offended by that?
If so, why?

Post #55And who said the Jewish Messiah will do ANYTHING to Christians? The Jewish messiah accomplish items for the Jewish religion., supposedly. The one big side effect allegedly will be 1000 years of peace.. and I am sure that people of all religions can benefit from that. The Jewish messiah is supposed to do things that accomplish things for THIS life, not a hypothetical next one.Tex wrote:Goat wrote:Tex wrote:That is another falsehood. And there is no reason for you to believe in the Jewish messiah... many Jews do not believe in a 'Star messiah'.. but rather a messianic age that all Jews should work towards. However, from a Jewish perspective, the Jewish Messiah, or the Messianic age has not arrived, because the requirement for the person/age have not been met.

“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Just like an atheist....He doesn't have to believe in God. But if he wants to call it false...Then I will something. If he then wants to insult my intelligence for believing what I do....Then he will hear something else. Pretty simple.

Post #59But no one is insulting your intelligence for believing it.Tex wrote: If he then wants to insult my intelligence for believing what I do....Then he will hear something else. Pretty simple.
If you ask me why I reject it, I will indeed tell you that I reject it because I personally feel that it's utterly stupid and ignorant, IMHO.
Is that an insult to your intelligence?
No it's not. It's simply an expression of why I personally reject it.
If you disagree with my assessment, more power to you.
To each their own.

Post #60Yes!! You can say it without the insults. You are calling what I believe stupid and ignorant. But you are so clueless that you don't even realize it.Divine Insight wrote:But no one is insulting your intelligence for believing it.Tex wrote: If he then wants to insult my intelligence for believing what I do....Then he will hear something else. A simple .....I disagree, because I believe it to be fiction is enough. You Know, there are a lot of people that don't see it as such....But what do you care....You're Master of the Universe.
