The kingdom of God.

Post by Checkpoint »

Some seem to think it is entirely future, while others give the impression they are always thinking of it as present, and to not be looking at the future in kingdom terms at all.

Jesus had much to say about the kingdom, including this:
Luke 16:

6 The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is being zealously urged into it.
So, where do you stand as to whether it is present, future, or has both a present and a future aspect?

On what basis?

According to which scriptures?

That's fine you're doing well. You can finished up whenever you have time.

I see some inconsistencies but I'll deal with them when you've finished.

#9 In light of the above what have you to say about 1 Chron 29:11?

I think I already gave this one an answer.

There really is little one can say about this verse, other than to suggest it is about the kingdom that has always been, not about the Messianic one that began as a stone and grew until it became a great mountain..., Daniel 2:35.

Bye for now.

So what is the difference between the kingdom that has always been and your understanding of what you call the Messianic one?

That is for you to answer.

I think I know what that has been, and only on that basis have called it Messianic.

No it is for you to. You earlier explained your understanding of the Messianic kingdom does not correspond to that held by Jehovahs Witnesses so I am seeking clarification. Is seeking clarification unacceptable now?

No, not at all.

You are welcome.

Rather than doing another general explanation at this point, I ask you to specify what in my previous explanation did "not correspond to that held by JWs."

Once I know that, I will try to clarify my position on that for you.

... in regard to it "teaching exactly as I specified", no. Even if those were a possible yes, that is somewhat pointless, as when applied we are quite likely to disagree strongly.

You are the one that said you didn't agree with what you read, do you not know what you were disagreeing with?

Let's cut to the chase.

Our only major disagreement is 1914. We cannot resolve it to mutual satisfaction.

Therefore I suggest we agree to disagree and move on.

Fair enough. I will continue to post on this and any other thread I see fit and I take it you will refrain from asking me any more questions. I will of course ask you any questions I see fit and you can choose to respond or not as you like.

If you choose to cross examine me on anything I post, rest assured I will cross examine your posts in exactly the same manner.

JW,

I looked through the different posts, but did not find what happened in 1914. Would you kindly recount what happened in that year with specific details. I would be interested to know about this.

Thank you,
RW
