Namaskaram...

I think we are in fantasyland when the Bible say a man - Noah - lived for 950 years. Why do anybody think it is not just fantasy? Maybe a muslim can help? Do you buy this solution...

What do you mean by mortals? And do you think 930 years is closer to perfection? Nothing is close to eternal life/living forever. Not 930 years. Not 100.000 years. Not 1.000.000.000 years. But I understand what you mean. 930 years is longer than 120 years. Did God get it right...

Do you bye this...

Why did Moses only live 120 years? Has it something to do with what God said about humans lifespan? I think so. It is not a coincidence.

If you want to talk about Adam and Eve and the story...

Revelation 22:1-2 explains how eternal life comes about for mortal man.

What do you want to talk about? I came with some thoughts? Here is one more - I can live with anything that happens to my child because there is life after death and reincarnation. I already have eternal life, so there is nothing to sell here. For inspiration...

So what was the point of even having such a tree in the garden?

In current times it is possible to live up to 160 years . There is a tribe in Pakistan called the Hunza tribe where people can live up to 160 years old , why they live so long is because of the their diet - they eat a plant-based diet and do a lot of manual labour . Another examples is Vietnamese man called Ho Van Lang survived in the jungle for 40 years and died at 52 from cancer when he was integrated into modern society or the Masaai people from East Africa . Back in the biblical times there was no GMO processed foods , technology that exposed people to radiation , diseases were treated through traditional medications , most modes of transports was done by walking or riding animals etc . Your body was kept fit through that daily manual labour tasks that need to be completed . They did not live in the stressful times that we live in now and the number 1 cause of death is stress , it leads to many diseases . So it possible for someone in the biblical days to have lived for over 160 years . What we also need to understand is that the bible is also a historical book meaning that we have to account for the cultural customs and norms practiced during those times . Meaning that we should not assume that 950 years is in accordance to how we currently measure years . What we can deduce from the story of Noah is that he lived much longer than the average man back in those days .

Typical:
Longevity myth
A widely repeated claim of remarkable longevity of the Hunza people[15] has been refuted as a longevity myth, citing a life expectancy of 53 years for men and 52 for women, although with a high standard deviation.[16] There is no evidence that Hunza life expectancy is significantly above the average of poor, isolated regions of Pakistan. Claims of health and long life were almost always based solely on the statements by the local mir (king). An author who had significant and sustained contact with Burusho people, John Clark, reported that they were overall unhealthy.[17]

Classic ignorance from Religious people. Yep, living in a fantasy land.

This is the desperation Religious people have in trying to convince themselves that the Bible (or whatever woo they believe) is true. The link is a pathetic excuse of a site, with an agenda and clearly not a rigorous study. Yet, Adonai posts it as if it's fact - as evidenced by his complete swallowing - hook, line, and sinker - of the claim. He needs to convince himself and others that the claims in the Bible are true.

It's exhausting. They - Religious people - simply have no ability to interact with reality.
“And do you think that unto such as you
A maggot-minded, starved, fanatic crew
God gave a secret, and denied it me?
Well, well—what matters it? Believe that, too!”

1Cor 6:9-11- a list of many unacceptable sins, It says those who practice 1 of them will not inherit Gods kingdom= will not be saved. Drunkeness is 1 of them.

Free will. God wanted them to choose with their free will to obey his words. Not to just be robots. They could prove their love by obeying. It wasn't much to ask of one in return for everlasting life, never sick, never without. no war, fear, hatred, death, pain, etc--how much value does that life have= a gazillion times more than all the wealth combined on this earth. Yet a liar comes along who did 0 for either of them, and they in turn kicked God in the teeth after he handed them that life on a silver platter and asked of them not to do 1 single thing in return for it. A very stupid move on their part, and like a domino effect, sin has multiplied into this sick satan ruled system. Gods kingdom is the only remaining hope.
