When I learned that the Bible speaks of a restored Garden of Eden and the restoration of mankind to the perfection and endless life that Adam forfeited, I was thrilled. Who doesn't want to keep living on this beautiful earth, with our loved ones, and being able to do all the things we love to do---endlessly?
If God said to you today, "When do you want to die?" would you say "now!!"? I don't think very many people would say that.
We CAN live forever here on Earth. The Bible tells us that we can.
Matthew 5:5
Psalm 37:9-11,29

Post #3241Yes, I did give definition of Eden below as "place of future happiness, "paradise". see below I colored blue.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 1:52 pmNo it does not.
The septuguint [which of course in the GREEK lanhuage] translated "the garden of Eden" as -->> ho paradeisos tēs truphēs (literally the garden of luxury/ indulgence)
So . ..
---> paradeisos = garden
---> Eden = luxury/ pleasure / enjoyment

Is luxury, pleasure, enjoyment not happiness?
Is your interpretation of paradise, "as no pleasure, no enjoyment, no happiness etc?"

There is a lot of quibbling here about Paradise and what that really means. It is a fact---it is coming, and it will be the beginning of life as it was meant to be. Perfect conditions and people with perfect health, and a good relationship between God and us humans. Whether we want to believe it or not, it is coming. God's purpose for the earth in the beginning was to be the perfect home for humans and for us to live on this beautiful planet forever. To learn more about Paradise on Earth, visit www.jw.org and put in the search bar "Paradise." Then scroll down to "The Paradise New World That is Near."
Paradise lost when Adam and Eve sinned, paradise restored to those who overcometh. (Rev 2:7)

Re: Paradise on Earth
Post #3249There is no seven years of Tribulation. You have the time that the Jews were delivered from Babylon mixed up with today. That seven "years" is over. Yes, the Lord is fully reigning over the whole earth right after Armageddon.placebofactor wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 10:15 amWhen you speak of Armageddon, are you pointing to the end of the 7 years of tribulation? The Tribulation would not be 7 years in duration. Why would it? It won't take long for Christ to eradicate all the wicked. He could do it in one moment. Why do you think he would draw it out to 7 years?? He said that if it were not cut short, the chosen would not survive. (Matthew 24:22) Does "cut short" mean 7 years?
