When science does not work

Can someone give an example of a situation where science doesn't work?

I've heard people say that science cannot handle situations outside the natural world, but there is no indication that religion can either. In fact, neither can offer any evidence that a supernatural realm exists in the first place. So what are some situations where science does not work but religion does?

In my experience science "doesn't work," all the time.
Chemical equations may fail when impurities are present.
Physics may fail to take into account dynamic or friction from lubrication.

Now, you could further investigate a system and keep refining the general rules of science, but usually it is not worth it to create a dissertation on why your car brakes in 33 feet, when other similar models brake in 38.

Then there are errors. I've encountered many an error in text-book applications of theory... Organic chemistry is fraught with them, and because an author tried to apply a principal too broadly we find that science fails.

But, what usually happens is that someone will notice and correct the premise for that condition, and, science marches on...

What is the meaning of life?

Does truth matter?

What is good and right, and what makes it so?

That's very true. Scientific theories are often designed for a perfect world with perfect conditions, which simply does not exist. They often require a little "fudging" to apply them to real-world scenarios, or else we simply accept a deviation in the results. The old joke about spherical cows comes to mind.

But, as you said, corrections are made and science marches on. Instead of a giant leap forward we often end up with hundreds of tiny steps towards the truth. I think of them more as incomplete successes rather than things that science can't do. The fact that science can "self-right" itself is one of it's most impressive features IMHO.

So can religion be used to fill in any of these areas where science stumbles?

You tell me, it's your life. O:)

I could tell you mine, but it won't be the same as yours.

Ok. I take it that you are claiming that you arrived at these answers my means of science. Please describe the scientific process you used to derive these answers.

You asked for an example where science does not work. I gave you three. There is, as far as I can see, no scientific method for determining the meaning of life. Do you know of one?

The purpose of life is to reproduce with genetic variability. At least according to the guys in white coats. I like to believe there's a lot more to it than that, but those are meanings and purposes that I add to my own life.

When do I ever not?
Please Google "What is the meaning of life."
If we take the measurements of a table, of voltage, of etc., these are true.
Networks, (helping others) increase in strangth as a function of members squared. Two men are four times more able to survive than one.

It's a bit difficult to prove mathematically, but we see it in heards, wolf-packs and so on.
