We've recently had innocent children gassed; school children killed enmass. pedestrians run over in large cities. So when will Jesus say "enough is enough" and come down and save those loyal to him before more of them defect to Donald Trump?
Some may think this is a dare by a disgruntled Atheist -- and they would be right! Enough of superstitious religion in everyman and woman's face, having to prove nothing but reveling and bragging about stupefying expectations. Why isn't "He" down here already, sending me to hell for my apostasy and delivering the brain dead to their ecstasy? Has anyone really thought about the multitudes just these past few weeks, that, because of their evil, will be consigned to everlasting brimstone. The Christian God and his son, knowing all this, are sadistic to the nth degree to allow it to continue. Can anyone logically defend the actions of this Dynamic Duo?
PS - I don't hate God, mainly because he doesn't exist (certainly not the personal kind, anyway).
Why can't Jesus come already?

1 > Countering the portrait of misery implied in the OP
The OP declares that "We've recently had innocent children gassed; school children killed enmass. pedestrians run over in large cities. . . . The Christian God and his son, knowing all this, are sadistic to the nth degree to allow it to continue." But I would argue on the contrary that we're actually living in the best time in human history. Advances in medicine and eradication or improved control over most of the worst diseases of history (plague, smallpox, malaria) should alone be more than enough to show that. Since at least the 1980s, for possibly the first time in history, we've had substantial global food surpluses and the preservation and transportation technologies to ensure that any shortages result almost entirely from political, economic, infrastructure and conflict causes rather than local famines. We've got it so good that in most countries and globally, obesity is a bigger problem than hunger. A greater proportion of world population has access to benefits from education and electricity than ever before, and despite painfully slow progress or even regression in some times and places our unprecedented travel and communications technologies are in general leading to erosion of ancient prejudices and injustices and helping the spread of more democratic governance and economics. Conflict-related deaths even in WW1 and WW2 were high, but not exceptionally so as a percentage of world population compared to some earlier historic periods (eg. Napoleonic Wars or the Thirty Years' War), and since 1946 conflict deaths have declined to rival estimates of the most peaceable periods in history.
I agree that we essentially are living in good times " maybe not as good as the 50 or so years after WW-II, but not too bad. The mentally disturbed and religious fanatics have just found more innovative ways to kill the innocent and the infidel, and that is disturbing.
The purpose of my OP is to challenge religionists with a theoretical question (that I believe I know the answer to) in order to more understand their defense mechanisms " to provoke them to show their irrationality to those seriously following the conversation but are straddling the fence in deciding whether Faith is the way to fulfillment. I confess that my answers to Tam, ttruscott and JW were short, and I apologize (I got busy with some pressing things and did not follow through). Fortunately other freethinkers supported rationality and are carrying the day in this debate.
So Mithrae, your point is well taken " I shouldnt make a fuss that secularism is still advancing and Faith is being set back on its heels, albeit slowly.
In regards to your last sentence, notice how conflict-related deaths have greatly shrunk since the two A-bombs were dropped in 1945? Fear of TOTAL annihilation has had a very sobering affect.
