When I learned that the Bible speaks of a restored Garden of Eden and the restoration of mankind to the perfection and endless life that Adam forfeited, I was thrilled. Who doesn't want to keep living on this beautiful earth, with our loved ones, and being able to do all the things we love to do---endlessly?
If God said to you today, "When do you want to die?" would you say "now!!"? I don't think very many people would say that.
We CAN live forever here on Earth. The Bible tells us that we can.

Heaven or Earth, your links don't really provide a satisfactory explanation at all. So many holes in the story.
Well, nobody can control another person's level of satisfaction, but the questions have I believe all been addressed, so there should be no accusations of ignoring the questions.
Have you considered the logistics of the afterlife in heaven? What will you and your family look like? Will everyone still have those features you recognise and treasure? What use will there be for your excretory system or your reproductive organs? What age will everyone be? Will your parents want to be older than you but at the same time younger than their parents? And on it goes.
Have you considered the logistics of the [strike]afterlife in heaven[/strike] [living on a paradise EARTH]?

The number of years of life they have accumulated since the moment they were born?

Most parents (with the exception, I suppose of those resurrected) are older than their children, as in general, parents have accumulated more years of life than their children.

Sorry, but that makes no sense to me. I believe that those who envisage some form of afterlife where everyone will be happily cavorting around with friends and loved ones have not really thought it through and are just indulging in fantasy or self-delusion.What age will everyone be?

What does a vacation in Hawaii have to do with a future paradise you can't provide evidence of? An eternity spent in paradise would leave those stuck there looking for a vacation from that so called paradise. Those stuck in Hawaii would eventually long for a vacation in Newark, NJ.

I'm not sure if you were being disingenuous or simply did not understand what I meant. In referring to age I meant the appearance of the body each person will have. It would be a weird world populated with only say 25 year olds. How does someone enjoy their 'current' family after death when it is only a particular snapshot in time right now? Throughout a lifetime people change dramatically. Which incarnation will be chosen for the afterlife? (Please not just post links as a response). What age will everyone be?

I'm sure we'd get used to not seeing people doubled with age, disfigured with time, weakened and in wheelchairs or stumbling along with walking canes. It will indeed take some gettjng used to not seeing anyone bald or white haired. No hands mangled with arthritis or trembling with Alzheimer's. Loss of sight, loss of teeth, loss of bladder control...I think none of these things will be missed.brunumb wrote: It would be a weird world populated with only say 25 year olds.
But after a time, I'm sure it will be what we see now that will seem "weird".

If you have time read Eccllesiates chapter 12 : 1-7 which poetically describes the far from poetic ravashes aging has on the body

I cannot answer this question as I do not understand it.brunumb wrote:

brunumb wrote: Throughout a lifetime people change dramatically.
Colloquially we say "people change" but we don't usually mean people literally morph into an entirely different person. For example there are few sane people that say "Last year I was a 6 foot 4, 50 year old Canadian lumberkack, with a wife and four children, but I've changed. Now I' m a 5 foot 2, 17 year old African girl named Clara). What we usually mean by "people change" is people grow and develop different abilities, views and opinions due to the experiences they have.
Jehovah's Witness don't believe in the afterlife. the only thing after life is death! Jehovah's Witnesses do however believe In a future paradise earth. Everyone will have to continue being the same person they are now in paradise.brunumb wrote: Which incarnation will be chosen for the afterlife?

Actually, they do. You at age 70 are quite different from you at age 30 or you at age 6 or you at age 1. A family might consist of parents around 40 y.o. with children say 20, 15 and 10. The family will be quite different in another 10 years or another 20 years. What sort of family will it be in the JW version of what happens after we die? Which version? It most certainly won't be remotely like the family unit that grew together on Earth if they are all perfected in some way and all say 25 y.o. in appearance. I find the concept of any version of reunited families in any version of an afterlife quite absurd and impossible.Colloquially we say "people change" but we don't usually mean people literally morph into an entirely different person.

We don't believe in life after death. The life I am describing is a paradise on EARTH for the living not for the dead. An artist's impression of a family on EARTH. You will notice they are not dead.brunumb wrote: [Replying to post 1185 by JehovahsWitness]

PARADISE ON EARTH!

In short we are not talking about heaven or an after life, we are talking about life ON THIS PLANET EARTH.We don't believe in an "afterlife" we are not talking about afterlife and we are not here talking about heaven we are talking about life on this our planet earth.
Here is a picture of the earth we believe exists and where these families will be
THE EARTH

Not in heaven in an afterlife on EARTH (see picture)
