How did Jesus become God?

Bart Ehrman has an excellent book entitled "How Jesus became God".

Without turning this into a book debate per se, let's turn the title into a question for debate.

How did Jesus become God? What do you think? What is your understanding of the process, or was Jesus always God? Evidence?

I realize there are a few assumptions in the debate question, but for argument's sake, let's go with it.

What was Jesus before his appointment? And what power did he gain through it? Archangel. Authority 2nd to his God and Father.
Why did God need to appoint a new God to judge the world? Why couldn't God do it on God's own? Jesus DESERVED it after laying down his LIFE for it. (God never died)

It's called trying to better understand someone's position when all they provide is a single statement and reference. You know, like all of your previous posts where you did nothing but ask questions?

So Jesus wasn't God until he was resurrected? What about all the time before? What was he then? Why was Moses appointed Godhood without the life sacrifice? I'm trying to understand the seemingly random appointments of God in your thinking. There's no clear logic or pattern to it so far as I can tell.
