Does Hell Exist?

The question for debate is does hell exist? If so, what does the Bible teach hell is?

Right now our bodies and spirits are together. At death they separate. So it it true that the body is in the grave upon death. Where else should it be? The soul, however, is not there.

The bible usage if the word SOUL is quite different from mainstream church usage. A SOUL is just a living person or animal. At death the soul ceases to exist.

The words SPIRIT and SOUL are not synonymes.

Paul wrote that he was going to be with Jesus. Stephan cried out to Jesus (not the grave) to receive his spirit. The Bible says Jesus gave up the spirit. David wrote that he would one day go to be with son and he didn’t mean sharing a grave. Samuel’s spirit rose. Revelation describes the spirits in Heaven, some wanting justice for their murder. Jesus promises to receive his disciples. The list goes on and on.

Jesus taught that hell is a place where the fire is never quenched and the worms never die. He warned people to avoid that destiny.

Revelation describes the spirits in Heaven, ...

Yes. God is a spirit. He lives in heaven. This does not mean God used to be an invisible part of a human - A SPIRIT (PERSON) is a powerful unseen being. God created many many other spirits like him. The most powerful and important one was Jesus. Then there were other SPIRITS like Jesus and God (JEHOVAH) We call these other spirits ANGELS.

That's just another way of saying he died, he breathed his last. (The SPIRIT is one's lifeforce)

Yes. Nobody is claiming Jesus is STILL dead in the grave. He (Jesus) was dead for just 3 days; after that he was resurrected and returned to heaven.

...Jesus promises to receive his disciples.

Yes, some humans will also go to live in heaven. They will have to die and then God will resurrect them (recreated them) with a new different body , a SPIRIT body. They will be like the angels and live with Jesus and Jehovah YHWH in heaven.

Paul wrote that he was going to be with Jesus.

Yes, Paul was one of those humans that hope to be resurrected to heavenly life (see above)

I don't think God is dead, nor that everyone who is spirit is dead.
