A belief of the Jehovah Witnesses?

Post by polonius »

Garbe, Detlef (2008). Between Resistance and Martyrdom: Jehovah's Witnesses in the Third Reich. University of Wisconsin Press. pp. 37, 38. ISBN 0-299-20794-3.

" In their opinion, only people who have accepted Jehovah and subsequently submit to his requirements will survive Armageddon and enter into the New World ... Jehovah's Witnesses also believe that a person confessing to worship God has to be associated with the true Christian denomination. Since they claim to be the only true religious denomination, they also claim to have the only means for salvation."

Is this a belief that all Jehovah Witnesses hold?

We do believe only 144,000 humans will be given life in heaven after they die. We do not believe heaven is "filled up" as if there is no more "space" in heaven and we dont believe all the designated places of the 144,000 are presently filled.
polonius wrote: "Jehovah's Witnesses believe thatonly 144,000 'spiritual Israelites' go to heaven. The 144000 is also referred to as the 'little flock'. Everyone else will either survive the end of the world [system], (i.e. armageddon) or die before armageddon and be resurrected to life on a paradise earth with a new physical body.
That is correct.

Jehovahs Witnesses believe many millions of people that held to non-biblical beliefs will be given a ressurection to a paradise earth on this planet (after the destruction of the wicked ) and be afforted the opportunity to learn the truth about God and Jesus.
Where in scripture do JWs claim this is specifically taught?

And where in any of the four Gospels does Jesus make this clear and definitive?

Make what clear and definitive?
  • The numbers (millions)
  • The ressurection
  • A paradise
  • A paradise on earth
  • The destruction of the wicked
  • The necessity to learn about God and Jesus
Jehovah's Witnesses believe the entire bible is the word of God and base their teaching on the teaching of Jesus in the four gosspels and all the inspired writings of the 66 canonical books including those of the Apostle Paul and the book of Revelations. We take a wholistic approach and do not believe that is something is not specifically mentioned in the gospel but is in scripture it is not from God. So the answer to your question is .... we believe these things are " made clear and definitive" in the bible.

You can omit "the destruction of the wicked", however.

So you accept the Protestant canon compiled by (or reduced by) Trinitarians. Why?
My theological positions:

-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.

I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

We accept as inspired scripture all 66 books of the bible canon (I think I have already stated that in this thread). The canon was, we believe compiled long before either "protestant" or "trinitarians churches" emerged on the world scene. Biblical compilation was we believe directed by God to ensure all that was necessary was included.
2TIMOTHY 3:16

All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

♦ANSWER No . Jehovahs Witnesses believe many millions of people that held to non-biblical beliefs will be given a ressurection to a paradise earth on this planet (after the destruction of the wicked ) and be afforted the opportunity to learn the truth about God and Jesus.
In that case what is the point of being a Jehovah's Witness?

Voltaire: "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
Gender ideology is anti-science, anti truth.
