God's actions make sense?

Weird, yes, but how are the actions of the Christian God any less inscrutable? :-k
Here I can only say that we have a fundamentally different understanding of the Christian God.
Question for debate:
Are God's actions (and inaction) more comprehensible to us than that of a hypothetical alien as the historical Jesus?

I will agree that the reasons for an alien coming to Earth in order to found a religion are pretty incomprehensible. However, I think the Christian God's actions are similarly incomprehensible.

Here I offer a list of questions for which Christians who would claim otherwise are accountable to answer. "God works in mysterious ways" and the like are not on the table this time.

Why does God allow suffering?
Why did God, omnipotent, rest on the 7th day?
Why does God create souls that he knows are bound for Hell?
Why was Jesus's sacrifice necessary for an omnipotent God?
Why did God let things get so bad that he had to flood the whole world? Why didn't he intervene earlier?
Why did God allow Satan into the Garden of Eden?
Why does God only reveal himself to very select people in very select times?
Why did Jesus's Resurrection have to happen 3 days after his death? Why wait for it to happen behind closed doors?
Why is the talent distribution among humans so seemingly arbitrary?
Why did God test Job? Why would he make a bet with Satan?
Why does God use Scripture to spread his word, instead of speaking to us directly?
Why did God permit slavery?

Anyone, feel free to add more. Should still be plenty.

ALL this problems and all your answers has a beginning. FIRST, before GOD created the universe and everything else, He has a plan for you to come into existence. The problem here is, that you have to begin read in Genesis 1:1.....
When you have read it you will see that everything was good. So the Bible interpreted itself. You must read it and ask God to open your mind for understanding the scriptures. This WORLD the way you see it today, is because the first two person has disobey God. And sin entered the world. Because you have to come in existence before all this happened, there was a plan already written in God's book there in heaven that Jesus will come and safe us. You have to ask someone to guide you for knowing the scriptures. Now give yourself completely to Jesus, then dead can be a sleep for you, just all the other true Christians.

The first question to ask in either case is "Was it a religion GOD/ET were interested in creating?"

I agree that if the answer is 'yes' then it would make no sense.

ANSWER God has allowed suffering to settle some essential issues raised in the Garden of Eden by Satan, a rebellious angel and our first parents Adam and Eve who he (Satan) influenced.

Image
This had to be done for the long term stability of the universe and ultimately to avoid more suffering in the future. Like a parent that allows his child to undergo a very painful operation for its long term good, God's allowance of human suffering should not be taken for indifference but rather an essential stage in assuring the stability and happiness of all intelligent creatures in the universe.

Happily very soon God will intervene in human affairs, kill off the wicked and ensure that no one ever has to suffer ever again, repairing all the damage done during these milleniums under human rule and (as the bible promises) , making "all things new ".

ANSWER: Because when Satan rebelled against God's rulership, he (Satan) raised some issues that called into question whether humans would, if given a choice, voluntarily obey their Creator (YHWH/Jehovah) or would humans rather choose to side in a rebellion. The answer to this question had to be settled for the long term stability of all God's intelligent creation, and the only way to legitimately settle this issue without impeding on Adam and Eves free will was to let Satan do as he pleased.

Jehovah (YHWH) God did not test Job, God allowed Satan to test Job to a point.

WHY DID GOD ALLOW JOB TO BE TESTED?
  • ANSWER: Because Satan had raised an issue, that of human integrity, that could only be settled by a human. Satan contested that no human would remain loyal the Creator in the face of great personal loss and suffering. Satan thus cast a slur not only on Job but on all future servants of God: do they serve God out of their own free will because they love and respect Him and desire his rulership or do people serve God only because it procures them personal gain?

Jehovah had confidence in Job and gave him (Job) the privilege of proving the quality of his faith and to play a part in establishing a precedent that would eventually legitamise the destruction of Satan and the reversal of all the harm caused. Since this would mean that never again would such a rebellion be tolerated, God's actions were fro the long term good of all humanity.

#QUESTION Does the fact that Genesis 2.2 says God "rested" on the 7th day mean God can get tired?

♦ ANSWER: No the Hebrew word "shebeth" translated as "rest" in English, essentially means to cease, desist, stop (an activity), so it doesn't necessarily mean to stop because of fatigue. In the the context of the 7th creative day then we can reasonably conclude it simply means God ceased (desisted/stopped) his creative works at the end of the 6th day
